Our Services > Cancer Treatment
Below is an overview of treatment therapies available at our clinic. Prescription and administration of each therapy is carefully considered based on the patient’s diagnostic test results and profile. Get in touch with us for a discussion.
- Immunotherapy – all agents involving use of anti-PD1 and anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibodies such as pembrolizumab (Keytruda®) and nivolumab (Opdivo®) including ipilimumab (Yervoy®) are available. Their US FDA approved indications in several cancers stem from effective and successful outcome data from clinical trials.
- Oral targeted therapy – all agents especially exploiting the the tyrosine kinase pathways will disrupt cancer cell growth based on information from comprehensive tumour profiling.
- Advanced chemotherapy – different chemotherapy agents are available and can be administered to patients using different techniques for better tolerance and effectiveness, including
- Transarterial Chemoembolisation (TACE): a technique to deliver anticancer drugs to the blood vessels to destroy cancer cells. It is often used in primary liver cancers.
- Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC): an effective treatment for several types of abdominal cancer. It involves delivering heated chemotherapy drugs to the abdomen. The objective is to kill the remaining cancerous cells after the cancer tumour is removed.
- Advanced radiotherapy – select available treatments include:
- Trans-arterial Radioembolisation (TARE), also called Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT): a radiation therapy that is minimally invasive due the utilisation of embolisation technique. It is often used to treat liver cancer.
- Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT): a precisely targeted radiation therapy guided by 3D imaging. The benefit to patients is reduced damages to the surrounding tissues. It is most often used in cancers like prostate and liver.
- Leutetium-DOTATATE: a type of targeted radiotherapy that is activated only when the drug is in contact with the cancer cells. It is often recommended to treat neuroendocrine tumours (NETs).
- Other therapies and treatment options can be ordered from our clinic as necessary, including:
- Radiofrequency ablation (RFA), microwave ablation (MWA): minimally invasive procedures using radio waves or microwave energy to heat and destroy cancer cells. They are often used to treat small tumours in the liver, lung, kidney and bone.
- Bone marrow transplantation, or autologous stem cell transplantation: a procedure to replace diseased bone marrow cells with healthy ones. This is a standard treatment for patients with relapsed aggressive lymphomas.
- Apheresis: a procedure to collect certain cell types or substances from the blood. There are 2 types of apheresis: plasmapheresis (collection of plasma) and cytapheresis (collection of blood cells). It is employed to treat certain blood disorders and blood cancers including lymphoma, acute leukaemia and Guillain-Barre syndrome.
